Most of the time, High-fashion ads crack me up. Especially Guess. But this one i like. Perhaps cos I saw it on screen? Usually if in a mag, i’d flip it with the 20 others if I was waiting in a Dentist surgery.

Yesterday, I met up with a bunch of friends for “Jelly”, a day of casual co-working for entrepreneurs and freelancers. I always find that some of the best ideas and inspiration can come out of a day of working around other creative people. I think we probably managed to get an hour of solid work done before a trip to buy a carton of Coronas was made. We had an impromptu Jelly Christmas party and I ended up shooting a portrait for my High School Teachers series and then some simple black and white portraits of everyone. This is Josh, who I actually previously shot as one of my inspirations for my BNE project. I haven’t seen him for years so it was great to finally catch up and hear what he had been up to. This portrait is one of my favourites from the day.
Thankyou Mark. Truly witness to an amazing talent.

Canada and Japan are two of my country crushes right now (ok they probably always will be). Each country’s abundance of natural wilderness areas means men and women of all ages embody a certain awareness of, hunger for and skills in exploring and recreating in the great outdoors. And ofcourse you need the right gear to expose yourself to the elements, and designers and makers in both these regions continue to produce some of the best looking hybrid gear for downpours and snow, regardless if Black Bears or neon lights are staring at you.
A recent publication that profiles the cultures and places from where these people and products emerge from, is Inventory Magazine. Based in that waterlogged gateway city of Vancouver, the mag is two years young and is an easy, diverse read.
My only grouch is the astronomical prices which seem to swing off these products making them fit for only the models who grace each page.
Oh and the bushy beard. It’s become such a brand in its own right it’s starting to lose it’s surprise.

Cut through.
My mum lived with Multiple Sclerosis for 20 years, so I know a thing or two about the way the condition attacks the central nervous system.
I like these illustrations because they are eye-catching, and hopefully they’ll help people to engage with a difficult condition that touches the lives of many people every year.
I just started a new tumblr. It’s called my awesome spaces. I love looking and thinking about uses of space. But i always find it hard to find good spaces. So I figure I’m going to start sharing one’s i find. Some will be for rent and others will just be for admiring.
